Lena & Matthew

A Destination Wedding in San Miguel de Allende

San Miguel de Allende is more than cobblestone streets and colonial charm, it's where old-world romance meets modern celebration. I specialize in destination wedding photography here, and this city never stops proving why it deserves that reputation.

I create warm, authentic images for couples from Mexicothe United States and Canada who choose this UNESCO World Heritage city for its timeless architecture, vibrant culture, and unforgettable atmosphere.

Lena & Matthew traveled from Bend, Oregon to get married here. Like many of the couples I work with, it was after a first photoshoot at the beach that they told me they wanted me as their wedding photographer. They'd fallen for San Miguel's golden light, its rooftop terraces, the way tradition lives alongside creativity here.

But they worried about finding a photographer who could capture the spirit of the place without making it feel touristy. They wanted someone they trusted, someone who already knew them and would go along with their vision.

So I went to San Miguel two days before the wedding and stayed with them, and together we planned out the different places it would all happen, because their wedding was very different from any other I'd shot.

The ceremony took place at a retreat center, quiet and unhurried, the kind of setting where vows feel like they belong to the couple and no one else. From there, the celebration moved to a candlelit dinner in the courtyard of a private hacienda, string lights and stone walls holding onto the day's warmth long after the sun went down. And then, dancing under a majestic tree, the kind of moment that photographs remember better than words ever could.

By the end of their celebration, Lena & Matthew had images that felt both cinematic and intimate: a ceremony that felt like theirs alone, a dinner that felt like home, a dance floor that felt like joy.

I work with couples who value place and presence equally, whether you're planning a boutique hotel wedding in San Miguel de Allende, a hacienda celebration in Guanajuato, or traveling from the Pacific Northwest or anywhere in the U.S. for a destination wedding that honors Mexican heritage alongside your own love story.

My approach is observational, culturally aware, and built for couples who want wedding photography that captures not just their day, but the soul of where they chose to celebrate it.
