Photographing Nuba Linda, a shaman devoted to sharing her natural medicine and beauty, was a deeply enriching experience. Her presence radiated serenity and grounded wisdom, setting a quiet tone of purpose from the very start.

We met in Mazunte, where the soft coastal light and the stillness of the morning offered a perfect setting for the work to unfold. Nuba moved with ease, fully connected to herself, her lineage, and the energy she brings into the world. It wasn’t just her outward beauty that struck me, but the quiet strength and depth that came through in every moment.

This was more than a portrait session. It felt like a ceremony, a collaboration shaped by trust, intention, and presence. The photographs carry something of her medicine in them: clear, embodied, and alive.

Much of my work takes place across Mazunte, Puerto Escondido, and the broader Oaxacan coast, where the land itself seems to invite this kind of intimacy. Sessions like this remind me why I do what I do: to create images that don’t just show who someone is, but hold the essence of what they offer to the world.
